Crater Lake: Words can't describe how beautiful this lake is, so I'll leave that to the photos. I will say that this lake is a geographical wonder! It was formed by the collapse of Mount Mazama. The resulting crater was gradually filled by precipitation, and formed this incredible lake. It was beyond beautiful, and we took our sweet time enjoying this place.
32 Miles...Once and Never Again: Now, Adam and I really aren't big on mile crunching, and 32 mile days really are not our idea of fun hiking, but two things made us decide that this one was a good idea:
1. It ended at a supposedly epic lake.
2. It would help us get into Bend for Brew Fest.
Unfortunately, our dreams of swimming upon arrival were dampened, literally by the fact that there were thunder and lightening storms all day. We decided that we had angered the fun hiker gods by hiking too much for one day, and so we will never, ever do that again. Note that we are at the OR/WA high point during these lightening storms... Whoopsies!
